Staying at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa, Liverpool, England

During my time in Liverpool I was fortunate enough to spend one night at the gorgeous Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa. I arrived in the afternoon and was booked into one of the loft rooms.

The room was amazing, it felt so luxurious and had all the amenities you needed. Even an iron! So that was handy considering all my clothes are constantly squished up in a backpack haha. Can’t say I’m the best at ironing though. Still have flashbacks of when I was 12 and tried to iron my favourite pair of pants and burnt a massive hole through them….that was not a good day. However this time round I successfully managed to iron my playsuit (to an acceptable level anyway) before heading down for dinner later that evening.

Dinner was absolutely divine! There was a set menu where you could order two courses for £16 or three courses for £21. I went with the two course meal and ordered the confit chicken, leek and bacon tart as my entree and the steamed haddock fillet as my main.

The food was so delicious that I couldn’t resist dessert and ended up ordering the lemon tart. There’s also a bar with a great selection of gin (my fave) and the bartender showed me this one bottle called unicorn gin that was blue and had a metallic sheen to it, pretty cool! It tasted great too.

The next morning I woke up super early to go catch the sunrise just like any normal crazy person would do. Then breakfast was served from 7am in the morning and it was a full cooked buffet, YUS! There was a good selection of fruit, cereals and hot options, I would recommend the yoghurt, berry and muesli parfait.

After breakfast it was time to head off to the spa for a full body aromatherapy massage. Be sure to go early if you book a treatment here as you get a welcome drink and have a bit of time to lie in the tranquility suite to switch off. The massage was soo relaxing and much needed after carrying my heavy bags around – I’d arranged to send some things home so I managed to get rid of a few things but… I still have too much stuff haha.

I headed back to the tranquility suite for a bit after the massage and I was so relaxed that I nearly fell asleep! Good thing I didn’t fall asleep long enough to miss check out time, which was at 11am FYI.

Back to the room I went to collect my things and then it was time to leave the lovely resort. Wish I could’ve stayed longer but it was the perfect one night escape. Thanks so much for having me Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa, hopefully one day I’ll be back!
