Having lived in Auckland for the majority of my life I can say with confidence that no, it does not snow in Auckland.
Snow in Auckland is incredibly rare and the last time the city had snow was in 2011. Even this event was described as a ‘once in a lifetime’ polar blast and it certainly wasn’t a proper dousing of snow which allowed any sort of snow-related activities to take place.
So if you’re hoping to see snow in Auckland, sorry but it’s highly likely you’ll be out of luck.
Either that’s music to your ears or you’re slightly disappointed. If it’s the later, don’t worry, there are other places in New Zealand where it definitely snows in the winter such as Queenstown, Otago, Wanaka and Canterbury to name a few.
